A large inflatable cactus
The inflatable Gufram Cactus is the scale reproduction of the Cactus created in 1972 by the genius of Guido Drocco and Franco Mello, the icon of Italian design which revolutionised the domestic landscape by undermining the boundaries between internal environment and open space. The Cactus is a somewhat ironic totem, embodying the drive, imagination and humour of design in the Seventies.
Designed by Maurizio Cattelan for Gufram, the large inflatable cactus sailed the Venice lagoon on a small boat during the 2015 Biennale, at the Principi di Savoia, on the occasion of the Salone del Mobile.
