The creators of TOILETPAPER, the renowned photographic magazine dealing with ‘very different things’, have relied on FLY IN to create the fully suspended inflatable structure reminiscent of the Eiffel Tower in a revised version.
This tribute to the French capital was aimed at marking the arrival of summer and at amazing tourists: a giant Eiffel Tower, about 16 meters high and entirely golden.
What was the main material used to create this special Eiffel Tower? Not iron, but air!
This unique installation was built with 722 different pieces, flame retardant spinnaker fabric, gold plated and printed using UV digital printing, a special treatment ensuring resistance even on gold plating.
This special inflatable remained entirely suspended and centred onto the Galeries’ dome, from where the dropping 220 m2 of external golden fabric and 400 m2 of internal curtains were providing the perfect shape.
Toiletpaper carried out an inflatable design project for a unique artist installation: a fully inflatable Eiffel Tower
A true masterpiece of inflatable design which could be admired from 6 July to 27 August 2016 at Galeries Lafayette in Paris.
