Practical and functional design solution for covering outdoor spaces
The ‘Mille Bolle di Sapone’ (Thousand Bubbles of Soap) is a three-dimensional cover removable in two separate elements.
Conceived to be used in terraces in autumn and winter, it’s a practical and functional design solution, ideal for covering outdoor areas or spaces in front of bars, restaurants and shops.
Based on drawings by It’Ing studio, it was carried out by FLY IN for Pier88, a trendy restaurant in Padua.
Made of white and transparent PVC, the structure allows light to pass through, providing the indoor spaces with natural and diffused lighting.
The ‘portholes’ in transparent Crystal allow, like the windows in a bubble shape, to view the road.
Pier88 is a trendy restaurant in Padua, built using old, abandoned containers. For Pier88, the structure was anchored to the large front door so that it could remain open onto the pedestrian passage and the terrace in front could be used even in the coldest periods.
The other ‘bubbles’ were anchored on the sides to provide repair to the secondary entrances for the staff.
A unique and creative solution for covering the outdoor space which, at the same time, is also a temporary inflatable artistic installation of great visual impact.
