Where time stands still

It has been traveling the world since 2012 in a suitcase, to be inflated, exhibited, and… experienced by audiences everywhere.

@eva_frapiccini is an Italian artist for whom we created this inflatable structure, designed by the artist together with designer Michele Tavano. It is a metaphorical time capsule and the focal point of one of her highly engaging performances.

Dreams' Time Capsule is a research and participatory project that seeks to create an audio archive of dreams, collected with the direct involvement of visitors during public events in museums, universities, and art spaces.

To date, the audio archive contains around 2,300 dream testimonies recorded in various countries, from Europe to Latin America, from the Middle East to Africa. The first phase of the project focuses on gathering dreams during a series of events where visitors are invited to record them inside the inflatable structure created by the FLY IN team.

We had a conversation with Eva Frapiccini, who confirmed: “The Time Capsule still feels brand new today, and every time it is placed in a new context, it creates its own magic of wonder and amazement. I must say I feel very attached to this project precisely because it allows me to establish a bond, even if fleeting, with my audience. The Time Capsule was set up at Palazzo Ducale in Genoa in April 2022, but before that it traveled to Dubai, Bogotá, Stockholm, Wakefield in the UK, Riga (Latvia), Bahrain, Cairo, among many other destinations.”
