Inflatables for Art and Design
Art and Beauty in One Breath
The Anglo-Saxons say that “inflatable design” is the ability to sculpt the air. It is a new frontier that FLY IN has opened to artists and designers; a source of inspiration for contemporary art projects, installations not achievable with traditional materials, scenery … More
For years FLY IN has been the reference point for craftsmen who want to overcome the limits of physics and technology. At FLY IN, artists, innovators and experimenters have found important raw material allies – air and fabric. The glue is creativity.
Inflatable sculptures and architectures
Among the most important works produced by FLY IN are inflatables for Gufram: the Eiffel Tower display at the “Galeries Lafayette” and the world’s most famous cactus …More
The latter, thanks to FLY IN, became an inflatable 6 meter tall cactus faithful in every detail to Gufram’s original artwork. It sailed the Venice lagoon on a small boat during the 2015 La Biennale di Venezia.
“Air Fundamental” coordinated by architect Vincenzo Latina, a structure for the teaching of architecture at the Syracuse University of Catania; the “Time Capsule” by Eva Frapiccini; “Blaublobbing” by Loris Cecchini; “The Hand” for the show of Virgilio Sieni; “Marzo” the costume-sculpture by Yuichi Yokoyama for Dewey Dell company.
These are real works of art that can be moved and relocated from an open space to a closed one, from a gallery to a museum, or within a private home. Like all inflatables created by FLY IN, these works of art are designed to be tear resistant and can be repeatedly deflated and re-inflated for easy travel to different audiences everywhere.
